COUGARS
While sitting at a bar grabbing some appetizers and cocktails with my “friend” Jason, it was quite obvious that the 2 men adjacent to Jason were cougars on the prowl! Aside from the glares they were giving me which was, flattering, it also made me think, WHY?
Well the stares all came together when Jason got up to go to the bathroom and I pulled out my cell phone to check a text. While replying to my MOTHER’S text, I heard and spotted one of the cougars saying to the other, “She’s either divorced, or she’s cheating on her husband, or boyfriend. Well there was NO WAY in hell I was going to sit there and let that slide. Immediately I made eye contact with him and said,
“EXCUSE ME. I didn’t realize that sending a text indicates I’m a “cheater.” Not that it’s any of your business, but to answer your curiosity, I’m not married, don’t have a boyfriend, and I’m not cheating on anyone. Jason and me are old friends. Maybe you two wouldn’t be sitting here womanless trying to figure out what my deal is if you had a little more etiquette not to verbalize your accusations loudly enough about a stranger, while at a bar!
Why do some men and women feel the need to make judgments about individuals that have NO impact on them, nor their lives? If you’re that curious, just ask…After all, we all know, “Curiosity killed the cat, but satisfaction brought it back!”
