Interpretive Dancing
The texting, emails and all the “finger” communication happening today keeps most men and women at just a finger’s tip away. While speaking with Rebecca, whose single status varies, we were analyzing how the birth and death of a relationship gets summed up in just a week’s text. Apparently, since texting seems to be the new run of the mouth for the experienced “player(s),” and so many of us remain single, looking back, I wonder: Would Grandma have been romanced in this way?
Many generations later, while dreaming of a relationship like those of our grandparents, many single women have no choice but to sit and ponder the dating rituals of today. Knowing there were no cell phones or computers back then, I, like many other women, fantasize when an actual “read” text is often NOT misinterpreted.
While interpretive texting usually is a convenient mean for most men and women to make or break plans, is this “text dancing” just our new way to hide instead of actually taking that leap to shake a groove? How is our new technology boosting, while dating technology appears to be crashing?
